A group of 5 and allot of hard work

In early 2010 my self and others were informed of the lack of funding in my job sector meaning I would be made jobless come June, I had been teaching Ceramics for City of Bristol College for the past 6 years. My self and a colleague who also teaches classes, for a long time had been coming to the conclusion of setting up independently and this had kicked things into immediate action.
Finally with a group of 5 companions we started work on Studios named Maze a big project and a huge commitment.
After allot of work (!understatement!)
We are really looking forwards to opening and seeing a mix of artists and designers make use of our studios.

One of the units with a newly built roof. The start of a lot of scraping, scrubbing, painting, sawing and loud drilling. A couple of us have truly advanced in DIYing.

A roof section being replaced with a lovely insulated roof. A bit of a spaghetti junction with all the cabling from the previous tenants.

An almost original state photo of one of the units (almost) all three of which had asbestos floor tiles, asbestos roofing with hanging insulation painted out windows and engine grease just about everywhere, but the vision was strong!

It was a very nice stage to reach when we started making the partitions, there were sooo many measurements!

Lovely squeaky clean spaces ready to receive their first artists,  a bit of a puzzle to make. All the mathematics paid off (not mine).

This is where people will be getting busy with creativity and my new location for teaching....has been a while.

Has been a massive project I cant thank people enough who have offered there help so generously!!!
